With timber sash windows, unlike most modern window materials, a wide range of repairs are possible. Even windows that might initially appear beyond repair, can often be restored. We strive to maintain the original where at all possible.
Repairing sash windows not only returns the look of the windows to new but can also fix the operation of the windows as well as and drafts that occur. All work that Victorian Sash Windows carry out is guaranteed for ten years.
Should a sash or window have deteriorated beyond repair, we can replace these to match originals. Traditional materials and methods are used to make a replica of the original window. All window fittings and draught seals are carried out as with reconditioning work.
Our workforce have a vast experience in working with traditional materials and methods and can replace windows quickly with minimal disruption. We are able to install replacement sills and double and single glazed units and slimlite double glazed units.
Those with UPVC or aluminium windows may wish to reinstate the traditional timber sash windows, or be required to do so within conservation area rules. We can reinstate sash windows, and are often able to re-use the original box frame.
We have our own qualified painters to undertake the painting and pointing of window exteriors and interiors. External work consists of replacement putty where required, sand mastic and pointing.
